Lean
Six Sigma is a powerful set of statistical and management tools and
methodologies that dramatically improve customer satisfaction,
productivity and shareholder value. It focuses on reduction of
variation in a business process, while targeting problem areas with
pinpoint accuracy. Unlike other process improvement “programs,” Lean
Six Sigma enhances process predictability while reshaping the
organizational culture to meet customer demands. It provides a common
language to gauge performance across all functions and divisions of an
organization.
Lean
Six Sigma is credited as the catalyst for breakthrough improvements in
a large number of organizations across a variety of industries
including healthcare, insurance, banking, manufacturing, and
government. Other leading companies who practice Lean Six Sigma are GE,
Johnson and Johnson, Allied Signal, Quest Diagnostics, BankOne, United
Health Group, and a growing number of large hospitals. Missouri
organizations that have adopted Lean Six Sigma methodology are: Leggett
& Platt, Detroit Tool Metal Products, ESSI, PROFormance Powertrain
Products, Precision Stainless – ITT, Tamko Roofing Supplies,
Eagle-Picher, Uniprise – a United Health Group Company, BankOne,
Missouri State University and others.
The
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt certification programs
provided by the Management Development Institute are offered in
partnership with the Industrial Management Department, College of
Business Administration at Missouri State.
The
program is structured so that Green Belts and Black Belts attend the
first two weeks together. Black Belts continue on to weeks three and
four of the training, while Green Belts are deployed back to the job
where they begin work on their projects.
Weeks
three and four of the Lean Six Sigma training provide higher level
tools and methodologies required to function in the role of Black Belt.
Unless an organization already has Green Belts to support the Black
Belt in training, it is recommended that an organization register at
least 2 Green Belts for every Black Belt registered. Ideally 3 to 4 Green
Belts will provide support for every Black Belt. Green
Belts are vital to gathering the data required to move a Lean Six Sigma
project forward in a timely manner
4 Week Black Belt Certification Training: $4995
2 Week Green Belt Certification Training: $2995
Ask about team discounts.
*For more effective Lean Six Sigma implementation, it is
